If I'm being honest is a collection of short stories and poetry on various significant and seemingly trivial topics Davies Olakunle Emmanuel remarkably speaks to a range of societal issues in his distinct writing style. His divergent view of life is emphatically expressed as he employs poetic license and faith-based convictions to thrill, and present his readers with a well-thought-out perspective. It is filled with plaintive, emotive, and rib-tickling pieces, designed to take you on a roller-coaster of emotions.
In a constantly confused and confusing world, I have grown tired of the nonsense surrounding love relationships and marriages, and I strongly despise the counterproductive narratives that are so common these days, which contribute a whole lot to the increasing rate of failed love relationships and marriages. The ever increasing consequences borne out of failed love relationships despite the very many relationship materials available, along with the clamor of many who have reached out to me for counsel and advice regarding these relatable issues, has driven me to address these issues in a direct, blunt and concise manner in THE DARK HORSE OF LOVE RELATIONSHIPS; the kind of advice one gets from a parent, brother, sister, or friend who shows you tough love by not sugarcoating anything but telling you the truth that many will either not tell you or will adulterate it in order not to hurt your feelings. I sought to “hurt your feelings” with loving truth so that you turn out well as opposed to not “hurting your feelings” and allow you fall into a ditch. I take it for granted that we all understand the importance of having people with this mindset around us. This book goes straight to the point, and in it you will find timeless truths and concepts that if you understand, and faithfully make them your reality, you will be shocked, pleasantly shocked, as to how in such basic, underrated concepts lie the secret to truly blissful love relationships.
This book, “Active Citizenship: A Turning Point for Economic Recovery in Nigeria” is apt following the interesting increase in youth participation in the 2019 general elections in Nigeria, immediately after the signing of the #NotTooYoungToRun Bill into Law. May I publicly in this book, appreciate the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhamadu Buhari and the leadership of the National Assembly for the passage and signing of this youth-friendly Bill into Law. It is an open invitation for young people to participate actively in the political space, not just as voters or thugs as was the case in the past but as key contestants for top political offices at Federal, State and Local Government levels. The resultant effect is already evident in the number of youths vying for political offices across the federation today. It is a welcome development and we believe that young people have all it takes to change the Nigerian society and its economy for the better. In this book, I have taken time to share my thoughts on how our country can recover economically when our youths become active in governance, public affairs and in the economic development of our country. I therefore welcome you on board, enjoy your reading!
Becareful of time is a book that is talking about time and education. and advising the youths to manage time sagaciously as well as the government and it consisted of moral lessons.
Waiting! We wait at the bank to withdraw or deposit money. We wait at grocery stores to pick items or to pay for items. We wait at the hospital to be attended to by medical practitioners. We wait at the airport to be checked in or for a delayed flight. Waiting is part of life. Waiting is a word most people detest, hence wouldn't even want to hear, especially children. They want whatever they want now or never. Howbeit, we still wait. You wait for several years doing academic work before you can be awarded an academic certificate. This book is aimed at helping young people who are yet to marry, understand that they are not wasting but are in a making process, waiting for a blissful marriage. It is about purposeful living as they wait for marriage. What you do while waiting for something matters a lot. What are you supposed to be doing while journeying towards your marriage? Marriage is not a destination, it is a journey. There is life after the wedding day. What you did before your wedding goes a long way to determine what happens after the wedding day. Life is in stages. No day of your life is worth wasting, likewise no stage of your life. You cannot jump any step in the stages of life and get away with it. You would be setting yourself up for a possible setback and destiny crash.
